Assistive Technology for Visually Impaired Students

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges faced by visually impaired students in Pakistan using assistive technology. The research employs a qualitative approach to explore the barriers and facilitators in the educational journeys of these students. Data was collected through interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal a range of challenges, including accessibility issues, lack of training, and social stigma. However, assistive technology also provides students with increased independence and academic success when used effectively. These insights contribute to understanding how assistive technology can be better integrated into educational practices for visually impaired students in Pakistan.
